Sports Day is organised by any institution where the students participate in various athletic events and compete against each other. On Children’s Day, Bal Bharti School celebrated Annual Sports Day at the school campus with great spirit, vigour and enthusiasm. All the students participated with immense zeal and zest and gave their best wholeheartedly. Such events not only encourage the team spirit and sportsmanship but also boost the confidence of the children and develop their overall personality.

Students of various classes participated in the sports day. The events of the day began, after the flag hoisting by the honourable principal Mrs. Sushila Kaliraman. Following that was the March Past presented by the Houses of the school which were led by their House Masters. Sports Captain Prateek Chillar lighted the Sports Torch and made the House Masters and the members took Oath of sportsmanship. The four houses of the school cheered for their respective members. Principal Ma’am gave green signal to the opening of the programme with an inaugural address.

The Sports Day started with the students of the four different houses competing against each other in sports events like relay races, 100 metres race, 200 metres race. Kindergarten kids too participated in fun-based events like relay race, collecting of items and collecting the cones. The participants exhibited the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and camaraderie and demonstrate the basic knowledge in coaching / officiating and administration in sports activities. All the events kept everyone enthralled. The non-participating students cheered for their mates and the whole stadium echoed with their cheers.

The atmosphere around the stadium was electrifying when the students cheered for their favourite teacher --- tug of war. The events of the day came to an end with Principal Ma’am declaring the Best Athlete (Boys & Girls). The Best Athletes, Yuvraj Shekhawat (XI D, Patel House) and Siya Garg (IX B, Subhash House) were given a certificate and a medal. The winners of the events were given away the medals. In the end, Principal Ma’am thanked everyone for their presence and support. She congratulated the students for their exceptional performances and advised them to keep up their sportsman spirit. At the end of the day, students departed with a clear smile on their faces. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.
